The Stitching of Diamond Eyes
I thought it may be interesting to some of you to see the progression of a design, so I am taking regular pictures, and posting the sequence...8/11 - My next project... still being worked on... ultimately it will have a circular mat. This is one of the intermediate stopping points.
8/18 - Still a bit to go on the rounding out, but I will be traveling over the weekend and the next picture will probably show considerable progress. Still some unfinished work on the interior as well. One stitch I had planned, did not work out... rip-it, rip-it.
8/19 - all finished except for one area I will bead. Finished needlework area is 10" x 10"
8/21 - starting an Earth tones version....
8/24 - Was busy with some other activities, got a chance to spend a few hours working on it yesterday. Got a picture in the full sun this morning, so the colors are brighter.
8/27 - Photographer was sleeping.. honestly same canvas in each picture... different amounts of available morning light.
9/1 - Going to have to learn to take my own pictures... Photographer claims there isn't enough light when he gets up in the morning. It is begining to look presentable.
9/7 - been busy, and the photographer is slacking! two images.. one in the morning one late evening... amazing what the difference in lighting does for the colors the camera 'sees'.
9/8 - Added beads to the blue version... need to find some smaller beads for the outer layer.
9/15 - Got the flu and did not make any progress for days. Went to the local bead show and found nice crystals for this pattern, and replacement crystals for the blue design.
9/19 - finished beading the blue version. Did most of the beads on the brown version (you can see the thread I am using to stitch down the beads in the upper left of the image below.
9/25 - spent the weekend sttching at a retreat with some local stitching friends. Obviously made a lot of progress, but no camera was handy.
9/29 - Got sick again, haven't worked for a few days, finally getting started again.
10/3 - Got some work done, and now am sidetracked on a different project for a class I am doing in December.
10/8 - Finished stitching and beading. We named the designs, so all the titles have changed. I am working on finalizing the pattern, have to: Check all the figures, produce the thread and bead chart, create the back page of threads for purchase with design, proof read, create the front pages!
10/15 - Waiting for my proof reader to give me final comments!
